He's under no moral or legal obligation to dump his own personal cash into this. He spent all the Kickstarter money already. I doubt he would throw away something like this, esp since a lot of the funding for it came from kickstarter. That's a thing that happens later when the company is losing money. People don't start companies with the intent of eventually shutting them down. Logically, things should change between the point in time when you have over one and a half million dollars to make a game and when you've spent all your money just barely creating the first episode, which did not sell well enough to turn a profit. I enjoyed it regardless, but having to win fights by using glitter and puppy dog treats in a no-stakes situation felt out of place for the franchise. He started What Pumpkin Games to cut them out, do you really think he would have bothered making an entire game production studio if he had the intention of quitting? Act 1 felt very much like a rated E for everyone kind of affair, no swears or rudeness, which is incredibly odd given how gruesome and hard-hitting the source material usually is. Even assuming he spent half of the 1.7 million on the 3D version and never invested any of his own money into the project, that's still $800k for a game that made less than $500k. I looked it up and The Odd Gentlemen only got $788k from Hussie, whose original budget was 2.5 million.
